Have we bypassed Gil?

During the political banter on the last post, Dave made a key observation. This raggedy blog, who's posts come nowhere near its original intent, has received more comments than Spencerblog in the last week. Is this a tribute to keeping comment moderation off the blog, is this because I try my best to keep the doors open for discussion, or is this because we're tired of the rules over at Spencerblog?

Steve-
There are several factors, including your posting policy. However, I stopped posting there because Spencer was actively promoting bigotry in his own postings, rather than his usual passive bigotry of "moderating" and allowing Randal's bigotry to speak for him.
After calling him out on it in the blog itself, I alerted Phil Heron (editor) to the problems and asked him to look over the blog himself. The fact that he bothered to say something to Spencer about it shows that he thought Gil crossed the line, too.
Once Gil "banned" me, pending an apology that would NEVER happen, I realized that posting there drives up Gil's counts (advertising hits as well) and helps promote Gil. Since, Gil isn't man enough to take criticism from me (or his boss), there isn't any point posting there since he won't publish winning arguments against himself anyway.

I will say this - the banishment and required apology don't seem to be necessary - from my point of view. The two of you simply have differing views, and the post in question that he made emphasizes it.

There's no fun in these political debates if you can't have differing opinions. Bob is the last voice there and he's not replying to everything either. And I'm noit the type to post with "Yeah, uh huh, you're absolutely right" everytime. It got boring. Hence, we can continue our debates here, we can use your DelcoWatch site, even Franny Ward's I live in Delaware County Blog. There's always other homes for us kooks.

I predict that spencerblog will pick up some new followers, but nothing too serious, as they can't really discuss what takes 12 to 24 hours to moderate.

Steve-
The final straw posting of Spencer's with Barney Frank was pure gay-bashing, plain and simple. It had NOTHING to do with the financial issues at hand, and everything to do with bigotry.

On a recent posting, Spencer let Randal get away with a ton of racist shit, even calling for killing Acorn workers. That's "moderating" the blog? More and more, it looks like Spencer is a closet racist, getting Randal to do his dirty work for him.

Spencer refers to the Secret Service as the "SS" (nickname for the Nazi police). He cries about the Secret Service investigating a death threat (or death "hoping") against Obama. This is not surprising since Spencer covered up similar remarks made by Randal.

I don't think Spencer will get many new posters. He's had the blog for a year and only a few of us stayed to play the blogger version of "kick the other guy in the nuts".

Without us, anyone coming to the blog is going to see essentially a dead blog with almost no postings, and Spencer's own lazy postings that just link to other blogs or opinion pieces. Weak.

LMAO! Dishonest Dave sounds like a school girl who got her feelings hurt by her crush so she’s “getting even” by lashing out and telling others untrue tales!

Dave, I gotta say, you are the most pathetic sniveling man I have ever known. Lol…

And it's not nice to lie to your one friend.

Just as pathetic is how DDD continues to cling to that place he is unwanted by still posting there under Anonymous! Lol…

Dude, seriously, get a life. Lol.

The Barney Frank post wasn't about gay bashing, it was about how Frank can openly lie by taking the naiive route, the prostitution ring utilized as a key example. I can say that I never noticed anything critizing a person's sexual orientation written by Gil, although there have been plenty in the comments section through C. Scott and randal.

I saw gil as letting certain randal posts through to let others criticize. However, randal does make strong points when it comes to double standards.

Steve-
The events of 20 years ago with Frank's gay relationship had NO bearing the financial issue, and Gil devoted 1/3 of his posting to it, rather than some relevant legislative actions the Frank's has taken.
Spencer also engages in racism by promoting the phony "reverse racism" arguments designed to mask real racism.

Spencer's recent posts on his blog:
"Black Separatism in Chicago"
"Playing With a Full Deck: Of Race Cards!"
"John Murtha: Race Baiter"

More and more, Spencer's mask is slipping and his support of randal makes more sense.

[yawn] Being called a racist by a dishonest partisan apologist is like being called an idiot by a moron. It means nothing.

Me: I don't like Obama's tax-and-spread-the-wealth Socialism.

DDD: Racist!

Me: I didn't care for Obama's tie he was wearing the other night.

DDD: Racist!

Lol...
